With influences ranging from John Bonham to Ringo Starr, John has a natural ability to keep songs “in the pocket”. He started playing in the late 70’s and was an original member of The Bangs, a New Jersey band that had a great amount of success in the 80’s opening for such acts as Chuck Berry, The Pretenders, Pat Benatar, The Stray Cats, Iggy Pop, David Johansen, Gary U.S. Bonds, Robert Gordon, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, to name a few. After The Bangs, John played in a number of original bands such as The HeartBeats and Gone Daddy Gone.
“TPM” is John’s first cover band and he stresses the need to always find “the groove” that the original artist intended. To quote him “When we pick a song to play, we always try to listen to the live version and go from there. If the artist felt this was the best way to perform the song, who are we to argue.”
